Looking into a deck that takes advantage of Wild Pair without using Slivers. I know it's not going to be a winning deck, but I'd like to at least get it working well. I thought blue/green would be best. Here's what I have so far.

Mana:
4 Lotus Bloom
2 Llanowar Reborn
4 Gemstone Mine
4 Island
2 Tolaria West
2 Dryad Arbor
2 Forest
2 Desert

Spells:
3 Cancel
3 Wild Pair

Creatures:
2 Spiketail Drakeling
3 Riftwing Cloudskate
1 Timebender
1 Sage of Epityr
1 Draining Whelk
4 Magus of the Vineyard
4 Magus of the Library
2 Groundbreaker
2 Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
2 Mystic Snake
1 Dormant Sliver
2 Llanowar Empath
2 Herd Gnarr
2 Ashcoat Bear
1 Crookclaw Transmuter
1 Voidmage Husher
1 Venser, Shaper Savant

Was looking for nice synergy, deck should only have converted P/Ts of 2, 4, and 7. Dormant sliver's in there for tech against Slivers. Thoughts? Questions?

Wall of Roots is a good mana accelerator, but it doesn't work in the deck. Late-game (after Wild Pair hits the table) it just goes and finds itself.

I believe that if you use the ability and add a -0/-1 counter to Wall of Roots before the search trigger resolves then the p/t counts as 0/4 and it can find any of your 2/2's.

You realy need a bounce creature like whitemane lion or Grinning ingus to go nuts with wildpair. You should play 4 Wildpair, If you play Dryad abor add 1 scryb ranger to replay it, Play wall of roots over Magus of the libary it can be search as a 0/4 when you play it right. I dont like the 1 Sage of epityr and 1 timebender they wont do well enough in this, i also dont like the 1 dormant sliver(i know its a nice card in the poision sliver mu but you should find better answers. why Groundbreaker, why Teferies. Why Drainingwhelk without a flash creature with cc 1, I dont like the Herdgnaths as a wincondition maybe play Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder over it he can do nice stuff in this deck(espaccaly with grinning ingus). I dont like the magus of the vineyard play some other accel creature(gemhide sliver, the red green one...). Llanowar empath seems also kind of week. THe Crookclaw transmuter ins interresting. The counter bounce Guys are good(a pitty that Riftwing is to expensive. I think the right way to go (if you dont play the sliver version, which is pretty good cause of the carddraw) is for an controlish variant with ugw a lot of counter and bounce dudes combined with whitemane lions and maybe even blink. Or you go the more comboish way with grinning ingus and Endrek to flood the board with tokens. I Personally feel the UGW Blink/lion version as many possible good calls and tricks it can do(Dont forget about the power of wall of roots to search for different p/t of creas you could even play Aven Riftwatcher, which is always nice with blink/lion) or any other 5 p/t creature.

Edit: Maybe a WUG Blinkpair deck could look like this. (a pitty blink doesnt work with pair) (just the cards no lands added or thelike)

Creatures
1 Heartwood Storyteller
2 Herd Gnarr
3 Whitemane Lion
1 Tivadar of Thorn
1 Cloudchaser Kestrel
2 Riftsweeper
2 Venser, Shaper Savant
4 Mystic Snake
4 Riftwing Cloudskate
4 Wall of Roots
2 Aven Riftwatcher

Spells
4 Ancestral Vision
4 Momentary Blink
4 Wild Pair

(i thought about Herd Gnarr again and in this deck he may be good(you can bounce all their blockers and then swing with a huge gnarr) i didnt played this list thats just something i threw together maybe you like it maybe you think i am an total dumbass, whatever...

I hope i could help gl with your deck cya.

Been thinking more about it. I think the deck needs a more solid core.

4 Search for Tomorrow
4 Coalition Relic
4 Wild Pair
4 Wall of Roots
4 Mystic Snake
4 Delay
2 Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
2 Groundbreaker
2 Ashcoat Bear
2 Scryb Ranger
2 Draining Whelk
2 Herd Gnarr
2 Venser, Shaper Savant

That's four 2s, twelve 4s, and four 7s. Fewer answers, but a bit more synergy and it doesn't necessarily rely on Teferi.

Thoughts?

Wall of Roots works with wild pair, u can put a -0/-1 counter b4 wild pair ability resolves and u get a 2/2, 1/3, 3/1, etc...

I can give u my list from a PTQ (which is wafotapa slivers with a crazy sideboard) Razz
