| gypsy it only dominated a pro tour because it wasn't prepared for. People were ready for dredge, and will be for elves in the future. |

i dont even know how firespout really beats elves anyways.
They can just combo out and beat you on turn 2.
they play turn 1 mana dude, you play land and say go. they win. you scoop.
if your on the play. you utopia sprawl, they play llanawar elf.
do you firespout now? If not they win.
Firespout + mass removal doesnt beat elves. They win the turn they decide to go off. the only spells they play before that are mana elves.
wail of the nim is worse then engineered eplosives. and that doesnt even make you win when you play it on their turn. It doesnt kill needle sentinel. And they can just replay more mana dudes and continue to go off. The only version of elves that it is good against in response to them winning is the Dragon Variant..which will probally be the least played now that elves is popular. Cause people will start packing condemns, bounce and the like to stop it. Against the grapeshot version, you just add one to the storm count, and agaisnt the enitity version they make them 2/2 in reponse. |

Firespout has already been talked about and already been dropped.
To adress "how does this beat non-elf decks"- actually quite well...
Zoo- Wrath, Wrath, more wrath. Then wish for dawnglow infusion. Win...
Affinity- See zoo exept you wish for fracturing gust and win.
Blue- Play planeswalkers fast and they can never deal with them in time. Activate ajani or chandra and win. Glittering wish for vexing shusher sure is good too.
Doran Rock- Hardest matchup, but getting fast wraths can win it. Witness is so demoralizing though.
Anyhow, yeh firespout doesnt beat elves thats why it was replaced by slice and dice which does. Post board 4x Challice and still having dice should do it. Please read the whole forum before you post. |
