Another 4-3-2-2 I lost in semis again this is by far the best deck I drafted in my opinion and I got lucked out on a bit by a guy who got all 3 colours every game and turn 1 nactal every game, plus the devour firespout dude to wreak me both games he won. Also just of note I had not read acemans walkthrough when i did this thanks for that really appreciated aceman, for those of you on magic-league ive copy pasted it onto the last draft I did if you want to get better at limited like me worth a read. I will be getting another draft up in a while in which I will try to make use of acemans critique.

1 Corpse Conniseur
1 Scourge Devil
1 Flameblast Dragon
1 Savage Lands
7 Swamps
7 Mountains
1 Forest
1 Naya Panorama
Sb
1 infest just does not work with my stratergy kills almost everthing i play
1 Death Baron mana intensive and is not all that often going to be any thing more than a 2/2
2 Oynx Goblet I had so many good cards in my 3 drop slot, I know these were awsome in intotherains videos but I felt they were the weakest of many good options
1 Ridge Rannet Paying 2 mana to draw a card is something this deck never really wants to be spending its mana to do.
Games Round 1 ugw bant, he has turn deft duelist but i ahve a rockslide elemental plus 2 pingers that go to work on this team, I pile in the creatures drop a devil in smash in for an amount of damge that makes the sitaution hopeless for him and he conceeds. Game 2 He stalls on three land, whilst i get my beat on by the time he has recovered I have dropped a flameblast dragon and thats game.
Round 2 gwr Naya right? Game 1 he gets turn1 nactal on the draw, I have a turn 2 deathraider, I get a pinger and start going to town forcing bad trades, when I drop a flameblast dragon with him already behind on board he concedes. Game 2 he has turn 1 nactal again and curves out nicely I stall forever on 4 lands with both bloodpyre elementals and flameblast dragon in hand after getting wrecked on board by the pyroclasm firespout guy. Game 3 Yes he has turn 1 nactal for the third game in a row these 1800s honestly I have turn 2 death raider and are able to put the pressure on with the help of a blood cultist, Im forced into some bad trades though to keep forcing through damage but its still looking good, I blightning him dropping his hand too 1 card he drops throctar, I continue to lay threats are he is at 8 life now, he draws and plays firespout devour guy, starts beating me down, I draw lands Oh well!
Feedback Appreciated. |

aceman defineately has some interesting draft evaluations from the previous thread, would be interested in talking to him as he seems to know what he is doing, wanna introduce us?
this draft pretty much picks itself, every pick is clear and obvious except for p3p7 where you should take relic for the mirror/esper matchups instead of a random 2/2 you pretty much know at this point that you won't be playing
onyx goblet is a perfectly fine card to play, it's not awesome, it's a solid suplement to the rb aggro archtype, your card quality is MORE than high enough to not play them, and you are nowhere near aggressive enough (your gameplan in the long game is to get quietus spike + pinger and win in that way, not out tempo them, although it is of course possible you can do so if they get a bad draw) |

Hmm, Evaluation time... Note that I liked most of your picks in this draft:
P1P10 Deathgreeter > Relic
P1P12 Swerve > Scream (You won't be playing either of them anyways, at least pick the one that is more useful and could possibly be used against you)
P2P2: Thunder/Executioner's > Cultist (There's such a thing as too many pingers)
P2P5: Bone Splinters > Scourge Devil (Devil is only really good in a token rush deck, which your deck obviously isn't)
P2P10: Carrion Thrash > Dregscape Zombie (WHY wouldn't you do this ? )
P3P6: Druid > Rannet
P3P10: Thorn-Thrash Viashino > Connisseur
Ask if you don't understand any of the picks:/ |

Seriously.
About the draft:
p3p9 I'd have taken necrogenesis. It is a REALLY powerful card that DESTROYS your strategy, and you won't be playing clan-crasher anyway.
I don't get why you keep getting connoisseur this late, it is like best black uncommon and you ALWAYS pass it and it tables. You should start with some 8-4s.
Also, I'd have taken bloodpyre over spike, which would let you pick thunder over cultist #2. But I understand you wanted to test the card, so it's ok |

I agree with shooter on p3p9, it simply didn't occur to me that necrogenesis would even remotely have a chance of coming round this late, and it's a FINE splash
on spike vs elemental, I'm going to say spike is better. he has dragon fodder and a pinger already, and spike simply wins games if you have tokens, pingers or anything with first strike and it's still early in the draft, so he can prioritize those
there is NEVER such a thing as too many pingers, pingers get exponentially better in multiples |

Okay thanks for the feedback as such, I think I am definatly underrating necrogensis its one of thoose cards I just can not visualize being that good so i never take it.
I do not really know aceman as such anymore than as a moderator of the modosharks communtity. There are multiple ways you can easily contact him and as modosharks is a site dedicated to help getting people better at magic and he is one of the founding members I am sure he would be happy to discuss stuff. You can contact him on www.modosharks.com either in the forums or as a message as he is a moderator he should be pretty easy to find, even on the thread he made about my draft. If you have modo if you go to my last draft post on draft no5 where I cp his feedback at the bottom it lists his two modo nicks though I can never find him on as he is on american time and is a busy guy or finally if your on facebook he is part of the modosharks group on there.
If you go to www.modosharks.com and click the videos section, you will see a list of videos you can view made with the intention of helping players get better at magic, most of the content is limited but there is some constructed also. You will find intotherains draft there, another great player in the top 100 limited rated players in the world. |
