When it says "this main phase" i think it means the next active main phase of the current turn. so you would receive your extra attack step after the post combat main phase.

If the 3 creatures attack, then you can play the face down card for the paying the Heights cost. It doesn't matter what type of card it is

Quoting the Eventide FAQ:
Quote:
If this somehow resolves outside of a Main Phase, then it untaps creatures but does not create any additional phases. [Eventide FAQ 2008/07/08]

Nevertheless, you can still get additional combat phases with Waves of Aggression, you just need to play it during your main phase.
The Windbrisk Heights' second ability can be played at any time you could play an instant if the condition is fulfilled. Since that condition will remain true for the remainder of the turn, all you need to do is wait until your second main phase to play the hidden spell.

Almost right. The answer is right there in the card link.

You play the last ability any time you could play an instant. During its resolution, you play the removed card. This is true even if the removed card is not an instant and could not normally be played at this time. [D'Angelo 2007/11/09]

This has no bearing on whether or not you can get an extra combat phase with a Waves of Aggression cast off Windbrisk Heights.

Actually it does.

If you don't play Waves of Aggression when the Windbrisk Heights ability resolves then you won't be able to play it later (including post combat main phase).
If you do play it during the abilities resolution (during combat) then you won't get a second combat.

Ok, point taken. I was not clear enough.

What I meant when I said (and I quote):
Carnubak wrote:

was that the Windbrisk Heights can be activated at any time you could play an instant to use its second ability.
You don't actually need to activate it during combat. You can wait until your second main phase to use the Windbrisk Heights since its limiting condition will be true for the remainder of the turn.

I hope this clarifies my intent when I wrote that.
