Hi all,

First of all I'm new in this forum

I used to play magic so long ago, and I recently have recued my old deck.

I'd like you all to give your opinion about what changes I should do to make it better. I've tryed it against control deck and it loses. Against a Rock it's equal (at least I think so). So, give your opinion please.

My deck:

4 Llanowar Elf
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Tarmagoyf
4 Troll Ascetic
4 Flametongue Kavu

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Incinerate
2 Urza's Rage
4 Rancor

3 Jitte
3 Sword of Fire & Ice

4 Taiga
8 Forest
7 Mountain

So, what do you think? Tell me everything you think about it.

Thanks!

Possably chain lightning and fetch lands. I also like Grim lavamancer and fireblast. Maybe even a cursed scroll or 2.

I'm thinking like this:

4 Birds of Paradise
4 Kird Ape
4 Tarmagoyf
4 Troll Ascetic
4 Grim Lavamancer

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
3 Fire Blast
2 Cursed Scroll

3 Jitte
4 Rancor

4 Wooded Foothills
4 Taiga
4 Stomping Ground (could switch out for 2 mountain and 2 forest)
4 Mountain
4 Forest

I think this may be a little better, but that is just my idea. I also think with the cheaper curve, you wouldn't need the extra mana accel from the llanowars.

I would do...

// legacy gruul

// lands 20
4 Taiga
4 Stomping Grounds
4 Wooded Foothills
6 Mountain
2 Forest

// creatures
4 Kird Ape - 2/3 for R, what do you want!
4 Grim Lavamancer - shocks for R, awesome
4 Tarmogoyf - best creature ever.
4 Scab-Clan Mauler - 3/3 trampler for RG? awesome.
1 Flametongue Kavu - needed a one-of Wink

// other spells
4 Lightning Bolt - 3 dmg for R?
4 Chain Lightning - 3 dmg for R?
4 Fireblast - 4 dmg for free?
4 Rancor - +2/+0, trample, and recursion for G?
3 Umezawa's Jitte - you win the game? count me in.

// sideboard
2 Pyroblast - aka counterspell
2 Red Elemental Blast - aka counterspell
13 random tech

Though really, I'd rather do...

// WRG legacy zoo

// lands 20
duals and fetches

// creatures 24
4 Kird Ape
4 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Watchwolf
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Scab-Clan Mauler

// other spells 16
4 Lightning Helix
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
4 Rancor

// sideboard 15
tech

Damn. That actually looks like the fastest deck ever.

The lists posted in the replies are fast and powerful, but with almost all of your cards being 1 or 2 drops, you are very vulnerable to Counterbalance (and to a lesser extent, Chalice of the Void).

If you want green beatdown but on a slightly different game plan, do a search on the "Eva Green" deck. It provides much needed disruption against those control decks and slightly varies the curve a little.

Granted, not EVERY local Legacy metagame is full of Counterbalance decks, but if yours is, give that deck a try or give your RG sideboard a heavy slant towards fighting Counterbalance.

that looks like a very consisten deck, all creatures gives a lot for its low cost.

Thanks to all for your time in helping me. Finally, with your aportation I've decided on this deck. Similar to the Zoo, but 4 coloured.

So, it's this:

GRWB

Lands 20
duals and fetches (4 Taiga, 1 Bayou, 2 Plateau, 2 Savannah, 3 City of Brass, 4 Windswept Heath, 4 Wooded Foothhills)

Creatures 24
4 Kird Ape
3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
3 Grim Lavamancer
3 Watchwolf
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Scab-Clan Mauler
4 Dark Confidant

Other spells 16

4 Lightning Helix
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Vindicate
4 Rancor

I think it has a good curve, good creatures and could work agains control deck.

What do you think?

Tank you all.

Uuhm... idk if the ascetics can survive on this ... maybe they are too slow for it but...
As i told u, i dont think that u need to win lives with helix, and maybe can find something more agressive...
