Pretty basic concepts when it comes to how I approach sideboarding. First is card choices, you want cards that can be both specific and non specific.
// Sideboard
SB: 1 [SC] Stifle
SB: 3 [LRW] Sower of Temptation
SB: 1 [CHK] Meloku the Clouded Mirror
SB: 3 [BOK] Threads of Disloyalty
SB: 4 [10E] Pithing Needle
SB: 3 [TSP] Krosan Grip
I think it's pretty self explanatory, Sower and Threads come in vs. creature decks I.E doran, zoo, etc. Needle comes in for problem cards like Academy Ruins and Mindslaver, arcbound ravager, cranial plating etc. Krosan Grip comes in for mirror and affinity or whenever convenient. Meloku comes in when it's apparent that they'd have trouble dealing with him, I usually exchange him and awakening depending on the matchup or a dead card like shackles vs. Teps or Tron. Hope that helps. Sideboard is tuned to current meta but will obviously change with this top 8. |
