|
|
First off I am playing the U/W version of merfolks, the original with the addition of wake thrasher, but this is my sideboard and would like opinions on it and reasonings please, appreciate all criticism!
4x Stillmoon Cavalier
4x Consign of Dream
3x Wispmare
4x Burrenton Forge Tender
The only slot I have a problem with is Wispmare, obviously it's my answer to bitterblossom but THATS IT, Runed Halo is not that big of a deal, until I get owned by it, but I seroiusly think the deck needs an answer to BB, otherwise they'll say gg
Maindeck just for any curious players that like wake thrasher:
4x Cursecatcher
4x Stonybrook Bannaret
4x Silvergil Adept
4x Meerow Reejerey
4x Sower of Temptation
4x Wake Thrasher
2x Sygg (pro one)
1x Mirror Entity
4x Cryptic Command
4x Sage's Dousing
2x Crib Swap
3x Mutavault
4x Wanderwine Hub
4x Mystic Gate
9x Island
3x Plains
Now open to ANY comments! |

| I would also consider recumblant bliss, seems it would be really good vs primarly rdw, but also not bad vs decks with doran or collosus. |

You really think pacafism with a gain life ability would be better than a potential time walk effect, especially when they tap out to play a colossus or something like that, but i havent got much time to test it, so i guess i would have to take a poll lol, either oblivion ring or recumbant bliss...
Although that is not an answer to bitterblossom lol
So would a better sideboard look like :
4x Burrenton Forge Tender
4x Stillmoon Cavalier
4x Recumbant Bliss
3x Oblivion Ring
????? Comments please and thanks ahead of time
This is for the PTQ in Orlando, FL this saturday |

| Agains Faerie Wispmare is the best card...destroy BB and win easily. If u can play White I think that Crib Swap is better than Bliss and Dream, 'cause it resolves the problem forever at instant speed...the 1\1 token is useless... |

When i made the suggestion of bliss i actually thought it was t2 we were talking about, overall i think I agree actually that crib swap has alot of advantages in block still deals with demi god or gourger no life gain though, turn 3 bliss on gouger vs rdw, seems awsome to me only problem though is rdw is not the biggest deck in block, also doran is a legend, so once you have a bliss on it they need 3 before they finally get there treefolk legend, but once again not part of the big three of block.
Vs the big three i will start with kithkin, bliss has the problem of not really dealing with ajani or wizened cenn, uw liege etc, but has the advantage that in a long game, it can gain you a lot of life to win races or buy you top decking time, vs cribswap, a 1/1 changelling is actually pretty good for kithkins. Overall O-ring seems like the best option vs kithkin for merfolk.
Fae, o ring kills bitterblossom i think that by itself makes it the best card, blissed creatures can get championed by clique, the life gain could help in a race of bliss like always if you get one early it could gain you around 10 life for 3 mana though thats prob not going to happen vs fae.
Qnt, bliss does not really deal with horde of notions, or oona queen of the fae, however it is better vs reveillark which some versions use, all white removal spells good vs archon of justice. O-rings can be bounced with cryptic command so overall best spell for this deck is crib swap.
Overall in block i think it comes down between o-ring and crib swap, in t2 where rdw and elves and doran builds are much more popular i think there could be a place for bliss. |

Talking about block...
Bliss on Doran is good, but u let urself open to opponent turn, in which he can play Colossus, Vanquisher, Wolskull Shaman, Procession, Ranger, Demigod and other things...I prefer playing the control role and act at istant speed... |

k peeps well i REALLY appreciate all the feedback i've gotten so far, so it seems an optimal version of the sb is:
4x Burrenton Forge Tender
4x Stillmoon Cavalier
3x Oblivion Ring
3x Consign of Dream
1x Crib Swap
the Forge Tenders being there for Firespout and RDW
the Cavaliers for Faeries/Kithkin/Doran
the O-Rings for Faeries/Kithkin/Doran/QnT/RDW
the Consigns for Doran/RDW/GW Aggro/tricks against Kithkin
the Swap for an addition removal spell for QnT/Doran/RDW |
