Was just looking at the 2 cards we know so far from the new set shards and came across this bad boy:

I can see this being the new second creature after Akroma ofcourse, he seems way better then razia and spirit of the night anyway.

The truth is, he is a really big bad ass monster that could see constructed play, for example in Reanimator or Mana Ramp decks. Its biggest problem is its cost, not for being big (Akroma and Bogardan Hellkite costed a lot too and still saw play), but for demanding a 3-color deck in order to be used. But still an excelent bomb in Limited.

Go go go Mythic Rares! Mr. Green

Akroma isnt Oath's number 1 choice nowadays, it's Tidesprount Tyrant, no ?

I dont see how that Dragon could ever take Tyrant's slot.

Angel oath has been resurging becasue it allows you to play more threats in razia and akroma. Oath gets it's fixing in 5 colors from orchard so it isnt unreasonable to play hellkite for razia.... but i would still play razia.

I think Oath will probably run something like Akroma, Overlord, Overlord now. It means you always have a 2 turn clock, instead of the random times your opponent would go to 1/2 life and still manage to win out.

Well there have been two oath variants for quite a while now, one being tyrant oath and one being angel oath.
Ofcourse when looking at this card you are looking for a creature in angel oath, so this > razia/sotn.

The reason people are still playing angel oath is because painter grindstone combo has increased the number of anti milling cards like stifle and gaea's blessing, splash damage hating on brain freeze.
I hear dumb dragons attack for lethal a lot quicker then tyrants.

put i also hear being able to bounce ur oppos board and swing for 5 is better than swinging for 12/14 and getting combo'd out =/

face it, tidespouts are better and brain freeze is obv not the best option in tyrant oath its obv tendrils =/
