edit: nvm, I read your post explaining points. To me, the program looks kinda basic right now... I know its just an alpha. I'll reserve judgement until there actually is something to judge.

I've been waiting for a point based system for a long time.

Something similar to having a limit on owned cards so there's some room for secondary market but no one needing to spend actual money. (if it stays f2p in full version form.)

It may be a good idea to allow the purchase of unopened boosters and then having the option to crack multiples or one at a time. personally it feels more genuine the latter and leaves room for multiplayer limited options later. (obviously I understand this is alpha and you most likely have those ideas already.

I look forward to seeing more about this.

The Deck Builder looks great! I both like and dislike the card you own things, it seems fun but I would hate not being able to compete because of lack of cards. (that's why I play here and not irl) I agree with KeySam on displaying how many of each card you have in your deck and stuff so you don't have to count that up on your own.

The fact that all card pictures are on there as default is great too!!

A problem I have though is whenever I click on the program in my icons my command promp screen (i think thats what is it) comes up along with it and if I click out of one the other goes too.

Also, I'm really hoping for drafting software to be on this thing, something I probably look most forward too.

So far so good, I can't believe were actually getting a new program I'm extremely excited and will support you all the way through!

@Acid_Christ haha, too bad that I'm resetting all the cards before the tournaments start.

@Pacwingducky I know what your mean about the boosters. What will probably happen instead is that in order to enter a booster draft (one where you keep the cards you get) you will have to spend points. Making booster packs that aren't opened immediately just adds another layer of complexity, but it may be added later on after all the necessary features. And this software will ALWAYS be free.

@NeoFiaso For people who want to play with every card available, there will be "Open" tournaments. (try out unchecking the "show only cards I own" checkbox to see every card) The reason for the command box is that I don't know how to make a proper windows link yet, but I will look into it. Online drafting and tournaments will most definitely be a part of it (two releases from now).

Another thing i just saw, you also should be able to remove cards from the deck/sideboard simply by doubleclicking on them(thatway you dont always have to rightclick).

Had the sideboard bug again and was able to fix it the same way(the sideboard reapeared when i added another card, i removed it then afterwards).

@getmatt201 You probably don't have the latest version of java. You need Java 6 to be able to run it.

@KeySam If you could, could you describe a sequence of steps to reproduce the error. Thanks

Solid Platform. Missing some cards so I can't put together my fav. decks Sad...Wink. Other than that it's good. When the point system is implemented you prolly need to create a way to make sure people can't generate multiple accounts (especially since you start w/ X points.) Otherwise where's the fun?

You need a 'gold' box as well as a 'land' one and probably a 'hybrid' one too.

It would be cool if the boxes (Your decks, sideboard cards, the card image) where movable/removable. Probably really complicated (I'm programming illiterate so dunno) but it would be awesome.

I know a graphic designer who might want to help w/ logos banners etc. etc. in exchange for a name drop (all publicity is good publicity). PM me if interested.

Great program overall. I'll keep my eye out for updates.

I tried to reproduce the sideboard bug, as far as i can tell the first time i added 3 cards to the sideboard and some to the maindeck and then i close the progam(not sure if i had a special filter setting on). After i started it again the sideboard wasnt shown, as soon as i added another card the sideboard was displayed correctly. Although i wasnt able to recreate the same bug(by simply restarting the program i stumbled over something similar). Here you see the pictures i taken(the cards arent all displayed like they should, there are huge gaps inbetween them showing nothing, as soon as i add another card it works again).

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/7wbc-2-gif.html

The three prictures show how i scrolled down to see my complete deck and inbetween nothing. I hope that helps.

A good blog to check out is http://mtgrares.blogspot.com/2007/11/ai-curve-my-mana.html

He had the exact same problem. Creating a program where you faced AI in magic.
It is what it is, so idk how you'd work around it.

I would suggest still working on the structure and ability of the program overall so if there ever is a way you can release it, you wouldn't be playing catch up.

All else fails, you have the structure for a unique game down the road you can release.

A working tool is still resume' acceptable

Is it Mac OSX compatible and I'm just failing or is it not programmed to run on anything other than windows yet?

I'm not trying to sound needy and ungrateful, we REALLY appreciate those who further the mtg community and the overall experience.

Thanks
