Hey, Here is my new deck. I just made it today and was wanting to speed it up. I need to be able to pull cards, so i need more search cards, or the likes. This HAS worked quite well when i get a good draw, but is too slow on the bad hands. Here it is, as follows.

{Mana Base}

1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Sunken Ruins
10 swamp
4 watery grave
4 underground river

{Creatures}

4 nantuko husk
4 Dark Confidant
4 Rotlung Reanimator
1 Oona, Queen of the fae

{Spells}

4 Ponder
3 Artificial Evolution
1 Rite of Consumption
4 Mana Leak
2 Ancestral Vision
4 Beseech the queen
4 smother
2 profane command
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, The deck works as follows. Disrupt important spells with counters and pesky creatures with nameless. I need better draw/Search cards that fit my strategy, And what i need a suggestion on.
The Maralen puts the opponent on a timer which, I admit can be easily dealt with, but should give me 1-2 cards for my combo to win.
The combo works something like this.
Have Rotlung animator and Fallen angel in play, as well as any other creature that fits. You use artificial evolution to change zombie on rotlung to Cleric. Then, you sacrafice a cleric/Rotlung animator (Not the one used for the combo) to fallen angel to give her +2/+1. When the cleric is put into the graveyard another 2/2 cleric is put into play, Which you sacrafice to angel. This makes a very large fallen angel as your beatstick.
My problem is protecting key creatures, Searching out cards faster, Some mana base adjustments. If you have any idea of what cards i COULD use to suplement my strategy please let me know.
I do not need this to be a tournament winning deck, but want to make it as competetive as possible, and as a casual deck.
Thanks alot. I appreciate it,
Piemur
Using Nantuko Husk might be better than Fallen Angel, also Mystic Tutor isn't legal in extended. Profane Command can help get your creatures back from the grave if they die, so try that! Also if you can afford/have them you want to run your mana base with some fecth lands and ravnica duals. Looks like a fun casual deck!
mystical tutor is not legal.
smother is better then nameless (kills doran, tarmogoyf etc)
maralen is really bad. honestly. if you play against aggro they will thank you for helping them, and search up burn spells to kill you even faster. against combo you pretty much give them the game with him. and against control he's a hugely overcosted beatstick that will allow them to look up any answer they want.
fallen angel is terrible by itself, so unless you have 2 specific other cards in your deck it's gonna be a bad card to draw. remember also if they remove the rotlung in response to your artificial evolution you are kinda screwed.
If you want to go competitive a UB control list with better win condition is your best bet. If you want to stick with this combo you could change it to (rough list)
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Watery Grave
4 Polluted Delta
4 Underground River
8 Swamp
1 Island
4 Dark Confidant
4 Nantuko Husk
4 Rotlung Reanimator
1 Oona, Queen of the Fae
4 Ponder
4 Smother
2 Artificial Evolution
4 Mana Leak
4 Beseech the Queen
4 Ancestral Vision
1 Damnation
1 Profane Command
1 Rite of Consumption
well, angel has flying making it easier to get in a good punch. Which, is also for the win... Husk is cheaper by far and means i can get the combo off a little faster... profane command gives fear, which is nice.
Maybe 1 angel and search for it, that should do it, with husks at 3...
Thanks for the tutor, i wasnt sure. What would i play in it's place? I need to search out an evolution with it usually.
What do you suggest replacing some of the draw with? The new list looks like this
Land
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Sunken Ruins
5 Island
10 Swamp
3 Watery Grave
Creatures
4 Maralen of the Mornsong
4 Dark Confidant
1 Fallen Angel
4 Rotlung Reanimator
3 Nantuko Husk
Spells
4 Ponder
4 Nameless Inversion
2 Artificial Evolution
4 Counterspell
3 profane command
4 Ancestral Vision
The problem with my spells i think are, Ancestral Vision, By the time it goes off, there is a decent chance I can't Draw cards to to maralen, What would allow me to search/set up/ Get cards for the combo faster in it's spot? Also ponders seem good but the whole cant draw thing makes it harder... hmmm, what are some good alternatives?
