| In the Swiss Tournaments, what are the tie breaking rules for determining the top 8? |

| No tiebreakers in swiss. If the match ends 1-1, it's a draw. |

| I think he might be talking about if 3 people are 3-1-1 tied for 8th who gets in. I think Your game win % is #1 then if that doesn't settle it I think it's opponent game win %. |

Ya, I do mean entering the finals.
So the win %... you mean, first lets say I am john and im tied with joe going into the finals. If my win % was higher than joes, then Im in the finals. If ours are the same, then we look at opponents we have previously matched up against? So if I beat a bunch of idots basically, Joe is in the top 8? Do I have that right? |

| Opponents' win % is the first breaker. So how good your opponents play (in other words, how tough opposition you faced) defines how high you get rated. The way to impact that is lose late in the tournament; the later you lose, the higher the average win percentage of your opponents will be. So in the end, your primary breakers will be the total tally of all your opponents' win percentages. |

i.e.:
I am player A... 5 round tournament, I lost in round 1, and then went 4-1... the guy that I lost to in round 1, got lucky b/c after he beat me, he did horrible and went 1-3 drop
Player B lost in round 5, and also went 4-1... the guy that beat him was 4-0 at the time as well, and ended up 5-0... who do you think gets in? If you say player B, you are absolutely correct... this is because the guy that I lost to was horrible and had bad win %, the guy that beat player B gave him a higher 'tie break' % b/c he was 5-0... if that doesnt make sense, go to a IRL tourney and look at 'standings' towards the end, they always post the %'s too so smart people who are close to being in, know if they can draw in, or if they HAVE to win |

In a swiss event, the tiebreakers that are used are as follows:
1st tiebreak: Your opponent's match win percentage.
2nd tiebreaker: Your game win percentage
3rd tiebreaker: Your opponent's game win percentage.
There is one small thing not discussed though... If any of your opponents had a match win % or game win % of less than 33%, it is rounded up to 33%. |
