Your 1 sentence topic opener doesn't provoke very interesting discussions.
Unmake doesn't change the game. It changes the game much like how nameless inversion or a land can change the game.
B/W wasn't viable before eventide, so you must look at what eventide brought us.
The only really good card I see is divinity of pride and unmake. These alone don't make a control deck. If there will be a B/W deck, it'll probably be a midrange type deck. |

I'd really like to see a decent b/w aggro deck.
I've been working on this:
Creatures:
4x Martyr of Sands
4x Figure of Destiny
4x Ronom Unicorn
4x Stillmoon Cavalier
3x Kitchen Finks
3x Murderous Redcap
Tribal Enchantments:
4x Bitterblossom
Instants:
3x Condemn
3x Nameless Inversion
2x Terror
Sorceries:
3x Thoughtsieze
Land:
1x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1x Pendelhaven
4x Fetid Heath
4x Caves of Koilos
Plains
Swamp
Sideboard:
4x Faeire Macbre
3x Runed Halo
1x Thoughtsieze
1x Murderous Redcap
4x Burrenton Forge-Tender
2x ?Mirrorweave?
I would say a Martyr (or more) could be cut due to the lack of white spells although I really love this card. I think I should put the Tenders in its spot to stop cards like Firespout.
Condemn is being ran in order to prevent makeshift, rev, profane, etc from resummoning dudes.
Terror was the last card included. I didn't know what else to put in. Also it felt like I didn't always want to be giving the opponent life with condemn (like on Cloudthresher). I've been debating on Condemn or Terror. Maybe the two Terror could be Mirroweave or Fire at Will ... I'm prob the only person on the planet who enjoys this card and I realize it contradicts what I said above.
Redcap is great against WW.
IMO Ronom Unicorn is main deck worthy at the moment due to Bitterblossom, Seismic etc and sometimes gets stronger after they board in cards like Halo.
Sideboard needs help. Sunlance seems like a great choice for it.
Lands I'd like to play would be Leechridden Swamp or Windbrisk Heights but it doesn't look like they fit. Also a set of VividPlains or Swamp.
Thoughts and suggestions? |

Why do you play black in that deck? It is a white aggro deck with Bitterblossom and Thoughtseize. Yes that make it as a matter of fact BW, but the game-plan and card choices are that of white weenie.
In other words; both mono black and mono white aggro would be better choices for an aggro deck than a combination. As already said, if you want to use the BW cards of Eventide for something useful, make a mid-range or control deck. Unmake is good in any deck that can support the colours, Stillmoon Cavalier is good in aggro or mid-range, Divinity of Pride is good in mid-range and control, Evershrike needs some setup but can win the game alone - in mid-range or control and Deathbringer Liege also needs some setup, but can provide some great card advantage, in mid-range or aggro.
I think you need to consider how your deck is an improvement of Kithkin/White Weenie. Making BW aggro because it hasn't been done so far is endearing per se, but as I have already pointed out, your version isn't as innovative as you hope or think it is. I would be far more impressed (not that it is something you should want to do) if you managed to create balance and synergy in a BW mid-range deck. |

// Deck file for Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com)
// Lands
3 [LRW] Windbrisk Heights
20 [LRW] Plains (1)
// Creatures
4 [EVE] Deathbringer Liege
4 [EVE] Nightsky Mimic
4 [EVE] Nip Gwyllion
3 [EVE] Restless Apparition
3 [EVE] Stillmoon Cavalier
// Spells
4 [EVE] Unmake
4 [EVE] Edge of the Divinity
4 [LRW] Oblivion Ring
3 [EVE] Beckon Apparition
4 [SHM] Spectral Procession
// Sideboard
SB: 4 [LRW] Burrenton Forge-Tender
SB: 2 [LRW] Wispmare
SB: 4 [CS] Martyr of Sands
SB: 3 [SHM] Runed Halo
SB: 2 [8E] Story Circle
This is what I have been running the past 2 weeks or so It has been crazy fast. Firespout it huge and it hurts if you aren't set up.
Turn 1. Nip
Turn 2 Edge 4/4 lifelink is sweet
Beckon is great when it help your mimic dodge a firespout and if you just need a quick 4/4 beat |

You should make space for Thoughtseize in the maindeck. Beckon Apparition and Restless Apparition are the weakest cards in the deck. I guess 4 of them should go, maybe along with one Oblivion Ring. The manabase shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't necessarily play it turn 1 if I got one. It would be better to do that in your turn 3, the turn before they can play firespout. So 2 Urborg, 4 Caves of Koilos, 4 Fetid Heath should be enough, but you could play more (although the majority should be plains if you want Spectral Procession). This will allow more disruption in sideboard, if needed.
The weakness with this kind of deck is that if the opponent can deal with a 4/4 black lifelink turn 2 (Blockers with problack or just 4/4 blocker(s), wrath, unmake, oblivion ring, condemn, flame javelin, temporal isolation, crib swap, venser, cryptic command ....as well as shock and tarfire + open mana), then you're screwed. It is kind of a gamble. It can be very fast as you said, or it can just be a beefed up Draft deck.
It is quite cheap and easy to make, though. And I am sure fun to play. |
