I think building a legitimate combo deck just around this combo is doomed to failure simply because of the colors it is in.
I see first turn thoughtseize, second turn untapper, third turn quillspike+ rites of consumption (if possible). |

Birds doesnt really seem to fit in the overall plan. As bad as this suggestion sounds, why not run crimson wisps over birds? you can give your quillspike haste to attack for the win if you dont have the rite of consumption.
Other card drawers to help you get there
Coldsnap Baubles. |

Well if you r trying to just do the combo i have playtested it A LOT and heres what I came up with.
// Lands
4 [TSB] Gemstone Mine
3 [SHM] Fire-Lit Thicket
3 [SHM] Graven Cairns
1 [SHM] Reflecting Pool
2 [10E] Llanowar Wastes
4 [LRW] Vivid Grove
4 [LRW] Mosswort Bridge
// Creatures
4 [PLC] Simian Spirit Guide
4 [EVE] Quillspike
4 [SHM] Devoted Druid
// Spells
4 [SHM] Rite of Consumption
4 [FUT] Summoner's Pact
4 [FUT] Pact of Negation
4 [SHM] Beseech the Queen
3 [SHM] Crimson Wisps
4 [TSB] Avoid Fate
4 [LRW] Thoughtseize
Its the deck that was posted first but tweaked a little. The mosswort bridge is a great card for this deck. just put a rite or a pact of negation under it to combo easily. U have enough black to make beeseech the queen useable. I really like the avoid fate. nobody expects it. lol. But like I said in the first post is that it has a lot of trouble with burn. I don't know how u would fix that and what the sb would lok like. |

I got a T2 deck which seems too work quite good. Land base needs a few adjustments, but not a lot. It plays very consistent due too the high number of draw + tutor in the deck. I feel Rite of Consumption can be dropped once, since you can win on beats as well... and 2 Rites in hand is kinda dreadfull.
8 Manlands ruin control decks
6 Main tutor cards, with 2 Primals SB
9 removal cards, 3 of which are mass
5 Lifegain cards, with 2 Primal/1 Finks SB
Draw, disruption and combo included.
Hope this can add something in the discussion

1. tap the druid you have one mana floating
2. attempt to untap the druid with the mana still floating...it now is a 0/1...
3. your opponent responds to the ability by terroring it
4. you respond to terror by using the mana to activate quillspikes ability and make the druid a 0/2 again...then you just combo off... the druid dies from what, now?

1. Opponent has Druid in play and casts Quillspike
2. In response I cast [insert removal spell here] on Druid.
3. Druid dies and Quillspike enters play.
1. Opponent has Quillspike in play and casts Druid.
2. In response I cast [insert burn/non-terror removal spell here] on Quillspike,
3. Quillspike dies and Druid enters play.
(eventually just kill Druid eot)
Basically, if the opponent has open black, red, blue or white mana and cards in hand, you can't play any of the combo pieces. And if the combo is all you got, he don't have to do anything else but wait for one of the pieces to enter play. Your only option is to play this combo in a regular BG rock deck and just deal with the awkwardness of having 8 cards in it that doesn't do anything useful in most cases (Quillspike and Rite of Consumption).... If he uses his Terror on Tarmogoyf or Cloudthresher, he won't be using it on Druid, and his precious Crib Swap needs to target Chameleon Colossus, not Quillspike.
Edit: if you use cards like Hatchlings and Kitchen Finks in the deck, Quillspike isn't entirely useless. If you play a Hatchling with QS in play (or vice versa), together they constitute real potency - and if you have said Rite at Hideaway, you can easily drain for 10-13 dmg as well as attack with a 6/6 and a 13/13+ (if they survive a turn). Having an "immortal" Kitchen Finks in play is also quite powerful. |

This is true... but i never said it didnt die in these situations... i was talking about the point someone brought up about terror in response to the 2nd ability of the druid... I understand that the combo can be stopped by a good player... |

i am using this deck for a while.
i can't c the turn two kill.
it has heavy problem against burn.
Try mercy killing in it.It is really help full ,and two copies of flourishing defenses for late game.
Manamorphose is a uslees cantrip.
combo deck need to harass opponents.Snake form is much better and thoughtsize is must have. |
