As we all now are quite aware the recent restrictions has really opened up the field to many things, workshop being one of those. I've been playing and modifying this deck for a while now and thought I'd throw it up here to see what people thought about it and maybe see what could be done for improvements.
Lands
8 Mountain
4 Mishra's Workshop
4 Wasteland
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Strip Mine
Creatures
4 Goblin Welder
2 Triskelion
3 Magus of the Moon
4 Juggernaut
3 Solemn Simulacrum
2 Duplicant
3 Gorilla Shaman
1 Platinum Angel
1 Sundering Titan
Spells
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Black Lotus
1 Sol Ring
1 Trinisphere
3 Shrapnel Blast
4 Sphere of Resistance
1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
1 Mana Vault
1 Mana Crypt
1 Crucible of Worlds
Sideboard
SB: 1 Duplicant
SB: 2 Rack and Ruin
SB: 3 Maze of Ith
SB: 4 Pyroblast
SB: 1 Shattering Spree
SB: 4 Leyline of the Void
Crucible of Worlds - Workshop crucible, wasteland, wasteland wasteland. Although island, go is still great I think its weakening has let a lot of ichorid and other workshop decks run wild so its great.
Sword/Jitte - Overpowered equipment, very powerful in the hands of any dude, and at an easy play with workshop they are quite useful. I'm thinking of cutting jitte for light and shadow though. Maybe another fire and ice.
Trinisphere - Great in every match I've had it. Really powerful card in my opinion could possibly add more.
Shrapnel Blast - I've loved this card since its inclusion. It's saved me multiple time from my own crypt, shut down a lot of early fatties. Even let me start welder earlier then I normally would. All around great card for the deck.
Sphere of Resistance - Put's my opponent behind. Far behind with my acceleration. Also great for shutting down annoying counterspells like FoW.
Plat Angel - You can't win, sorry drain tendrils. Sorry mr. combo without a removal or bounce. Sorry aggro decks that have wasted all their burn on my doods so their guys could go through.
Sundering Titan - Hoser, everytime I've casted him I've won. Unfortunately that hasn't been very much though so who knows.
Welder/Shaman - Welder allows crazy shenanigans obviouslly, Shaman wrecks a lot of things including pesky null rods and moxes. Great one drops.
Trike - Love this guy, great with welder.
Duplicant - Pretty good, usually a clear for juggernaut but also good for people that still like to do things like play exalted angel.
Magus of the Moon - House. Wrecks other workshop decks, good against ichorid if you cant get rid of their bazaars. Also randomly shuts down decks that get their nonbasics. I like this guy.
Solemn Simulacrum - 3 for 1.
Anyways if you have any suggestions let's hear I'd like to get some ideas on this. |

Game one versus Ichorid does appear to be a scoop, but game 2 and 3 are much more balanced thanks to Leyline and Maze of Ith. |

Suprisingly I've had some pretty good games against ichorid. Sphere of resistance is really good when they try to drop a fatty for free and my shrapnel blast is a good way to remove bridge from below before they get to out of hand. Wasteland also is a house on their bazaars. Like thorns said game 2 becomes much easier when you drop leyline. So far I'm something like 4-1 in matches against ichorid here but I will say most of them involve game 3 and some luck.
In regards to consistency the mana base is almost exactly the same -1 mountain on mine +2 ancient tomb. So I'm assuming you mean elsewhere. You have thorn over shrapnel blast and I wonder how that pans out for you, sometimes the extra mana cost can even be harsh for our decks so I dunno how I like it. I do like multiple swords and have switched out the jitte I used to run for a light and shadow. As for the creatures I think the silver bullets work nicely and I'm really glad your not running karn as I believe he is highly overrated. Now seeing as my creatures you dont have cost 6+ you probably are indeed more consistent with your creatures but I really like the angel and duplicants and titan though. Anyways thanks for posting your list, and input. |

This may come off as a noobish question, but since I dont play vintage, it prob is a noobish question.

| Juggernaut is a 4 turn clock. A three turn with shrapnel blast. He's also the most efficient artifact beatstick. Perhaps you have a suggestion for a better artifact? |

in the first list, juggernaut might be replaced with thorn of amythist, or more shrapnel blast/solemn simulacrum
in the second list, juggernaut could be replaced with shrapnel blast. |

| Without juggernaut I feel this deck doesn't apply enough pressure in a format that is quicker then any other. Thorn might be good but it really just prolongs things. Also aggro tends to be a problem in my book so I would say the thorn really only helps them. |

seems like a solid list, i would only play platinum angel if i was expecting ichorid and even then you can't tinker for it, so i still might not play it...and even with angel combo can every other deck can just bounce it
i don't like shrapnel either, creatures aren't anything you should worry about, i would rather have 4x thorn of amethyst
if you worry about welder why don't you try granite shard, it works against confidant, and any fish/aggro decks pretty well |
