Hi guys, I have a very simple question. If I have Bloodpyre Elemental in play and play some creature with devour and sack the elemental for the counters, does his ability resolve as well? And what if I play Bone Splinters with them as well, do I have to sacrifice another creature or not?

Thanks

Any ability with "Sacrifice ~" as a part of its cost means that as an additional cost to play that ability, you have to sacrifice that creature. Sacrificing that creature in any other way does not mean you have played its ability and in Bloodpyre Elemental's case, it will not deal any damage if its devoured or used for Bone Splinters.

Really no reason to point this out, as often when players are still at a rules comprehension of this level will be confused by extra information past what they had explicitly asked about.

Not really, what he said is true, while what stone_d said was completely unnecessary.

Oh Spaghett, no, its not saying you're not a good player or not smart or anything to that extent, however it does sound like that, its that, players ask questions and learn the rules. all players. there was a time when jon finkel would've needed to ask a question like this.

its simple the progression of knowing the game and its extremely comprehensive rules.
