orim´s chant

If i play a sorcery and my opponent casts an orim´s chant, does it cancel my sorcery? The sorcery can´t be played or it´s already on the stack? What happens??

the sorcery is already on the stack so it resolves...youve already played it.

Are you sure? Sorry for asking that, but i was playing with a friend of mine and he used an orim´s chant in response to my sorcery and said i couldn´t play it anymore so my mana would burn unless i played an instant.

Orims Chant says that you can not play spells, not that they can not resolve. Since you have already played your sorcery and it is on the stack, Orims Chant will not prevent it from resolving.
