Hi.
I've just formatted my laptop and installed Ubuntu in it. First thing I did was installing Wine and try to install MWS. I got to run it, and built a deck, opened the web client, but ... when I tried to play a game, I couldn't see my cards, only some of their mana costs.
Help would be great! |

Just wanted to say, there is a new version of Darwine available here: http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/. This update helps MWS alot on the mac. Cards no longer appear upside down in mwsplay. The last problems I see are that Card titles are too small to read in hand and on the table (have to hover over them to see card to the right) and also that the P/T is similarly too small to read on the board.
In my opinion, it is playable now, just requires more attention to detail as you play. |

My version of Ubuntu is 8.04
My version of Wine is 1.0
I have a 1.6 GHz intel centrino processor with 512 MB ram, and my graphic card is some model of nVidia, with all the drivers in use. |

Ok well if you read what I wrote in the guide and what I said earlier then you should be able to see why it has flaws right there in your own post.
Support is given from wine version 1.1.2 and up, not 1.0. Update your wine somehow and it should be fixed. Try an unstable version of wine otherwise. Version 1.1.2 and lower is known to have flaws..

If this is correct and more people can confirm and give me a list of current flaws as well the version of Darwine used I can include it on the support as workable. Also could you provide screenshots? |

Installed Wine 1.1.5. Now I can see the cards in MWSPlay, but cannot see life totals, mana pool or cards in library yet.
Any idea? |

I cannot see p/t nor the names of the cards, cards remaining in library or in hand... well, u can see the screen. At this moment, I think it's playable, but fixing this issues would be great.
By the way, which irc client do you use in Linux?

There are a bit of ways to solve this problem.

However, this installs unnecessary things to just run MWS. I believe defoma will solve this problem.

Should solve it. Its a font manager, which seems to be your only trouble. I had the restricted-extras installed already, before having installed workstation. |

Do you have the log from when you installed it?
Also, I just use xchat on this computer. I dont really need anything too particular from my client though. |

could you check you have these fonts in the /usr/share/wine/fonts/ and /home/*user*/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts/ dir?

I do have those files in the /usr/share/wine/fonts/ but i have no directory named home/*user*/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts/ dir (and yes, I changed *user* with my name) this is the tree of wine-1.1.5
