Treetop Village, Mutavault, all the Cairn lands, all the ping lands, all the Vivid Lands...

If you read all those lists, you can pretty much tell the format relies heavily on nonbasic lands. If you can get away with running Magus of the Moon in the main, then there is no reason you should. It doesn't hurt you at all, and it can destroy a lot of decks when it goes unchecked.

I copied the list card for card from what my friend Brandon Scheel played and got 11th with at PT Hollywood. I played against Mono black Midrange, 2 Merfolk, and I forget the rest. Anyway, I didn't bring the Masticores in vs them. Since I built it right before the trial I wasn't positive on how to board; however, I just didn't think they were necessary in those match ups because Mono blacks guys were either huge or nonexistent, while I felt Merfolk could play around it and/or counter it quite easily. As a side note, I'm thankful I didn't play anything that had main deck Magus because they would have been a huge problem even after sideboarding.

I would love to see some people play my deck at GP Buenos Aires and tear up the field. Its like a metagame deck which has the right cards vs all decks in the main. Only soso matchups are lark and ramp and that is not really sooo bad and the board gives a load of disruption and answers.
Sad that a flight there would be like 500 euros one way :)

Why not find something else to put in there? To beef up power by 1 doesn't seem enough to put Doran in there. Wait..I know, I know "But he's a 5/5 for 3 on turn 2 with a Bird!" Blah blah.
