What do you think of your chances in T8? Don't really know the other deck lists yet but if theres not many katakis i think i have a good chance.
Which M-L player or players would you like to meet in real life? Hmmm, i was the time Koen was around, and i always wondered how he would look like.
What is the oddest object you've ever used as a counter or token? Once i tried to use a gum in a friendly draft....that didn't work.
DH-
Name: Dalibor Hrelja

Record: 6-0-1
Deck played and why: Frenzy Affinity because it's an aggro deck which can actually race Ideal, unlike others.
What do you think of your chances in T8? Time will tell.
Which M-L player or players would you like to meet in real life? Well, someone who could actually teach me how to sideboard properly :D

cmc

Age: 17
Record: 5-1-1
Deck played and why: Enduring Ideal because I figured a lot of people would be playing Rg and that's one of ideal's best matchups. Also because thedarkness gave me the list.
What do you think of your chances in T8? Probably good. The deck's been playing well all day, and there aren't any matchups that are unwinnable. All it takes is a topdecked ideal to win.
Which M-L player or players would you like to meet in real life? Quite a few: thedarkness, therooster, kendiggy, eliminator, and a lot more.
What is the oddest object you've ever used as a counter or token? Nothing exciting, just pro player cards.
Eldariel
Name: Jarno Porkka
Age: 22
Record: 5-1-1
Deck played and why: MUC, because I feel like it's the strongest deck in the format and I'm confident in my ability to pilot it properly to have an advantage against weaker players.
What do you think of your chances in T8? Good as long as I don't run into Ronnan. If I do, it'll be a royal headache.
Which M-L player or players would you like to meet in real life? The people idling in #mtgthesource are all cool, and most of the judges too. Really, all of the high-profile members get props.
What is the oddest object you've ever used as a counter or token? I've been pretty bland in that regard, the weirdest object is probably a piece of paper ripped from my Swedish notebook entitled "Satan Codex". Only Finns will probably understand me though.

I forgot to add a crapton of people to my "Which M-L player or players would you like to meet in real life?"-part. If you feel left out, it's probably because I tried to keep the answer brief. Basically, you probably know if you should be there :P
Top 8 played out as follows:
Eldariel over DH
Ronnan over Adrian
cabof over Domainus
Cla89Ita over cmc
Ronnan over Eldariel
cabof over Cla89Ita

LOL.... I'm just happy 'cause i've showned to Darkness and other that were joking on me for my "not fluently" english that the most important thing in this game is win... Not speack
Compliments to Ronnan and the other, very good players...^^

We should make n¹Ronnan jokes instead of Chuck Norris jokes from now on ;-)
Why did Eldariel scoop btw?
by
Eldariel on 2008-01-06 07:06 MST
We played in groupstages and we had no intentions of playing again - it was way past midnight here, we were tired and 3 untimed matches of MUC vs. MUC would take 3-4 hours. We wanted to toss a coin, but since randomally determining who wins isn't legal (such as a coinflip or such) according to DCI rules, we decided that since he had a slight advantage in our groupstage game (he had 3 Shackles versus my 2), I'll scoop. Better luck next time, meh.

I wasn't insulting your english dude. :\
I could care less about a non-english-speaker's inability to speak or read english.
And the most important part of the game isn't to win in my opinion, though it does add a nice flavor to it.
Either way, as I hear it you are an awful player and an amazing lucksack, and I stand by my original comments.
Congratulations to all on your top8.
The Ideal list was <_< >_>'s, the O-rings were kendiggy, the Overmaster was mine, and the Firebolt was Mtgfanatic's.
Since, unlike some people, I find due credit to be somewhat important, espeically when it's in the wrong place. -_- But cmc did GET the list from me, and I 2-1 dropped with the same list. Vomit-y stomacheache-y-ness > magical cards. :<

I've flipped into the t8 masters before eladriel, with judges knowledge, DCI rules and ml rules are not the same.
by
CMA-Flippi on 2008-01-09 04:52 MST
indeed, DCI and magic-league is not the same.
Especially concerning disconencts were many ppl complain about the DCI rulings with that %:)
